The Mayan Web Quest

    INTRODUCTION

Welcome to the Mayan Web Quest. You will learn a lot of information from this Web Quest on the ancient Mayans and their lost cities. You will get a task to complete and information on the Mayan culture. At the end of this Web Quest you will complete the task and learn a lot more about the ancient Mayan Indians. I will also include most of the sites that you will need to use to complete the task.

   TASK

There are many theories on why the ancient Mayans disappeared. You need to come up with your own theory or use another theory of someone else's. After you have researched and you are sure that you have a pretty good theory, you will write a persuasive piece on why you think your theory is correct. You and a small group of people will then debate with each other about your theories. See if you end up changing your theory after the debate.

    PROCESS

First, you will research through out the web and look up different theories. Once you have come up with a theory that you like you and a friend will share your findings. Finally, you will have a debate on your theories.

YOUR SPELLING IS VERY IMPORTANT. CHECK IT OVER SO READERS DON'T GET CONFUSED.

ORGANIZATION

YOU NEED TO BE ORGANIZED BEFORE A DEBATE. GET A FOLDER OR STAPLE YOUR PAPERS TOGETHER. KEEP TRACK OF EVERYTHING.

INFORMATION

YOU MUST MAKE SURE THAT YOUR INFORMATION IS CORRECT AND YOU HAVE RESEARCHED IT CAREFULLY.

1

You don't have your information ready or you don't participate in the debate. Most of your spelling is wrong and you didn't check it over.  You don't have all of your papers or you didn't do your work. You didn't make sure all of your information was correct and you just made most of it up.

2

You have most of your information, but you don't participate in the debate. Some of your words are wrong, but not most of them. You have your information for your debate, but you don't have information to back it up. Most of your information is wrong, but some is right.

3

You have most of your information and you only participate in the debate for a while. You only have two or three words spelled wrong. You have most of your information ready for the debate, but it isn't all complete. Most of your information is correct, but some is wrong.
